Won Hee Cho

AADOCR NSRG - President Candidate

Reasons for Running:
My name is Won Hee Cho and I am currently a second-year DDS Candidate at the University of
California, San Francisco running to be President of the AADOCR National Student Research
Group. AADOCR is an outstanding organization as it encourages collaboration across borders and
there is no better opportunity for students to gain knowledge and awareness on research, current
issues, and innovations. I am applying for this position because I hope to decrease barriers to
student membership, promote diversity and inclusion, and represent the organization responsibly.
I spent my formative years in Pennsylvania, California, South Korea, and Texas. Not only has this
allowed me to develop an immense appreciation for diverse cuisines, but the experiences have
helped me find a common thread with people from various cultures and backgrounds. I also believe
my past experiences in student government, research labs, and entrepreneurship have equipped me
with the interpersonal and technical tools to effectively lead and represent the AADOCR NSRG.
Ultimately, as president, I hope to collaboratively engage with graduate and professional student
members on a national level, preside over and participate in business and board meetings, and
substantially increase accessibility and visibility in our community.

•    Responsibly represent the AADOCR and earnestly advocate for student researchers.
•    Increase social media visibility of the AADOCR NSRG to increase outreach to non-members and further promote research opportunities to dental students.
•    Decrease barriers to student membership by forming a working group to explore potential sources of funding for scholarships and awards at regional and school levels.
•    Encourage LSRGs to interact with not only the primary research groups on campus, but also affinity groups at dental schools to promote diversity and inclusion within the student division of the AADOCR
