Alexandria, VA – A symposium exploring the latest advancements that bridge restorative and regenerative dentistry was presented at the 54th Annual Meeting of the AADOCR, which was held in conjunction with the 49th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research, on March 12-15, 2025 in New York, NY.
The field of dentistry is witnessing a transformative shift from traditional restorative techniques toward regenerative approaches that aim to restore both function and biological vitality to damaged dental tissues. This symposium explored the latest advancements that bridge restorative and regenerative dentistry, focusing on minimally invasive treatments, biomaterial innovations, and tissue engineering. Attendees gained insights into cutting-edge techniques such as remineralization of carious dentin, the use of electrospun and 3D-printed scaffolds, and the application of multifunctional nanoparticles for bone, dentin and pulp regeneration.
Additionally, new developments in antibacterial dental resins were discussed, emphasizing their role in extending the life of restorations and preventing secondary infections. The integration of these innovative technologies offers clinicians and educators new opportunities to redefine patient care and improve long-term outcomes. By advancing restorative solutions that focus on biological preservation and regeneration, this symposium charted a course toward a future where restorative dentistry becomes less about replacement and more about restoration and renewal.
